Lipa Noi Viewpoint - Magic Garden (south) - 3-4 hours
From the Lipa Noi Viewpoint - Magic Garden in the south of Samui is a strenuous walking tour.
We start the same way to the Lipa Noi Viewpoint as the short trek. We will start at an old half cement - half dirt road about 225 meter above sea level, that will lead us uphill to a beautiful viewpoint looking out over the west coast of Koh Samu. A steep but steady climb of about 175 meter on a beautiful road leading through different lush green forests as well as plantations.
From the viewpoint we continue our climb towards the highest top of Samui, following the mountain ridge over mostly dirt road, through plantations and constantly changing landscapes.
Just before the highest top (which is military ground and cannot be reached) at about 600 meter above sea level, we will turn inlands, following the mountain ridge around the valley.
After a while we will leave the mountain ridge and cut through the middle of Samui towards the south where we will end at the Buddha Magic Garden, high above the south of Samui (Namuang area). We advise to wear shoes for this hike to prevent any injuries. The sand can be very slippery when dry so you need a good grip. The tour will take 3 up to 4 hours depending on our pace and the lengths of our rests.
